Week 3 in the hospital

My third week in the hospital started off with a visit from my sisters (Tamara and Paulette). Dustin was here since he had off for the holiday. My sisters decided to go ahead and shower us with presents for the babies. Three babies means a lot of presents. They gave us a diaper bag, bottles, nipples, pacifiers, bibs, a formula holder, a swing, a jumper, and a rocker.

Tuesday was an event filled day for me. The IV in my right arm started to swell up so they had to change IV sites. Apparently the tubing inside my arm came out so the medicine was just flowing into my arm. My nurse quickly took it out so that it wouldn't swell any more. My new IV was placed on the inside of my left arm. Let me tell you that has been the most sensitive spot for an IV so far.

On Wednesday night around 9:30 my doctor called me in for an ultrasound. Dustin had already gone home so my mom was able to go with me. The babies are still growing strong and moving all around. Hannah is 2 lbs 2 ozs, Aiden is 2 lbs 1 oz, and Olivia is 1 lb 13 ozs. My cervix however has shortened again and is now only 1.3 cm long. My doctor was okay with the length because she said she has definitely seen longer and shorter before.

Thursday was a pretty calm day for all of us. However, Friday had a little excitement. I was in the shower and the fire alarm started going off. I asked my mom to see if it was a fire drill or if it was a real fire. Well, she opened the door and there were about a dozen people coming down the hall. You guessed it, they were coming to my room. Apparently the steam from my shower set off the alarm. It took them about ten minutes to give the all clear. Thankfully my mom was able to capture all this on her camera. During all the commotion my PaPaw and Aunt Debbie showed up. After everything calmed down we were able to have a very nice visit.

Saturday was a pretty relaxing day for me and Dustin. Our visitors this weekend were my dad and step-mom and Rick and Beth. Rick and Beth brought us some beautiful multi colored roses. Sunday was a pretty good day until I broke down crying. I realized that Dustin was going home soon and I wanted to go with him. He did a wonderful job at calming me down. He told me what a great job I have done so far and that the babies are doing so well in my womb. To make me feel even better he spent the rest of the day laying next to me in my bed. My mom brought Masie up at shift change time so that I could spend a little time with her. It was so nice to get to see her after three weeks. I don't think she recognized me at first but then she jumped in my lap and started licking my face. That was a great end to the weekend.

Thanks to everyone for their continued thoughts and prayers for our family. Enjoy the below pictures from this weeks events.

Kerra,

That picture of you blow drying your hair is hilarious. It looks like you are airborne or hanging form the ceiling or something. We hope you were cheered by the flowers. So cool that Masie got to come for a visit. She would cheer me up for sure! Hang in there, we are praying for you constantly,

Rick
